The present study discusses the ways black men are portrayed in the early creative writings of Toni Morrison, Alice Walker and Toni Cade Bambara, three major African American women authors of the post-Civil Rights Movement era.
Komla Messan Nubukpo is a Full Professor of African and African American Studies at the English Department of the University of Lomé, Togo in West Africa. He holds a Third Cycle Doctorate in African Literature in English (Université de Paris 3; Sorbonne nouvelle, in France; 1980) and a Ph.D in American and New England Studies (Boston University; Boston, Massachusetts, USA). He is currently the Director of CReLAND (Center for Research in Black African and Diasporic Literatures).
