Against the backdrop of Western learning spreading to the East in the 20th century, this study interprets the stylistic construction and humanistic connotation of Tang Yunyu’s portrait paintings from three perspectives: brushwork grammar, color concept, and subjectivity presentation. This study establishes Tang Yunyu’s coordinates in art history by delving into her life stories and analyzing her key portrait works. Her achievements have both theoretical enlightenment and practical reference significance for the innovative development of modern painting creation and art education.
