The authentic, strong, fierce, and uncensored rhetoric of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has become an interesting subject of linguistic investigation. This critical discourse analysis of his selected speeches is aimed to uncover the President’s hidden political ideologies underlying his speeches. The study analyses the prevalent microstructures and macrostructures of the selected speeches of President Duterte and determines the dominant transitivity processes and paralinguistic cues that he employs.
